LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Wi-Charge (www.wi-charge.com), the wireless power startup utilizing infrared to enable full room wireless-power coverage, unveils the first ever solution of room lighting combined with wireless charging that is FDA cleared. Earlier in 2017 the company’s product was approved for commerce in the US by the FDA. Wi-Charge is the first company to ever receive regulatory safety approval for long range wireless power.

“We look forward to seeing the growing demand for our solutions once we hit markets.”

Wi-Charge is also announcing that the company has won the CES 2018 Innovation Award in the Smart Energy Product category, and will demonstrate its technology in this year’s event at Sands Expo, Halls A-D, Booth 42911.

Imagine you’re walking into your local coffee shop, picking out your favorite pastry, and while you’re charging yourself with that first coffee, your phone is doing the same: No wires, no charging pads, not a single action required from you, just automatic wireless charging. And no, this isn’t something out of Harry Potter, only the near future that Wi-Charge has planned for us.

That Cafe and any business for that matter can simply implement Wi-Charge’s charging hotspots that will charge all smartphones within line of sight. Wi-Charge’s lights can provision any room with the ability to charge multiple smartphones using infrared beams that are safe for people and pets.

This year at CES, Wi-Charge will allow you to step into the demo space and charge your phone wirelessly. Here are the new demos Wi-Charge will reveal during CES:

Wi-Charge will present the first wireless power charger in an open environment demo, that will offer multiple phone charging. Wi-Charge will demonstrate a lighting/wireless charging combo designed for a café environment.
Wi-Charge will also demo its capabilities of charging devices in motion and from a distance by having two Lego trains endlessly running on wireless power.

Wi-Charge’s technology utilizes infrared beams to transfer power between a charging hotspot and client devices within a 10-meter range. The hotspot easily mounts on a wall or ceiling, providing full room coverage, so that devices can recharge automatically without any user intervention. Similar concepts have been attempted by others, but so far no one could offer a solution that is powerful enough to charge a phone, have sufficient reach to cover a room, and be radiation-safe. Wi-Charge is the first company to achieve the power/range/safety level required for a commercial wireless power solution.

CES Innovation Awards entries are evaluated on their engineering, aesthetic and design qualities, intended use/function and user value, unique/novel features present and how the design and innovation of the product directly compares to other products in the marketplace. Products chosen as CES Innovation Honorees reflect innovative design and engineering in some of the most cutting edge tech products and services coming to market.

”We’re excited to bring to CES our new combo solution for wireless power and light that can be embedded both in homes and in commercial environments,” said Co-Founder and CEO, Victor Vaisleib. “We look forward to seeing the growing demand for our solutions once we hit markets.”
